No Anorexia!

Oliviero Toscani photographed  Isabelle Caro for Nolita  naked  to create awareness of the illness in Italy. Even though fashionistas hailed the campaign as a turning point, the health experts were scared that teenage girls might want to compete and be skinny.  The owner of Nolita, Flash & Partners, funded the posters. It said that the aim of doing this campaign was to show everyone how serious the illness can be.
I think doing such campaigns are pointless and can cause an increase instead of a decrease in number. There are always other ways to show how anorexia is not only ugly but deadly.

  1. That's quite a shocking picture! Typical of Oliviero Toscani who has been shocking the world of fashion since his days with Benetton. I read the manifesto of the brand "Nolita" and they pride themselves in being "incoherent" by mixing and matching styles/fabrics that would normally not match. This ad campaign is also sort of incoherent... What do you think makes it incoherent?
How would you talk about anorexia and its dangers?
